Bottom Limit of MMNA for 2019-20 Announced

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has announced the new poverty income guidelines for 2019. The new guidelines mean that the minimum monthly maintenance needs allowance (MMMNA) will rise to $2,113.75 in the 48 contiguous states and the District of Columbia, effective no later than July 1, 2019. The current amount is $2,057.50. The upper limit of the monthly maintenance needs allowance, announced earlier, is $3,160.50.

The new bottom limit figure will be $2,641.25 in Alaska and $2,432.50 in Hawaii. The MMMNA is 150 percent of the monthly poverty guideline for a couple.
